Dear Lord,
The most beautiful sunset, the most majestic mountain peak,
the most soulful song, the most exquisite embroidery,
the most tranquil lagoon, the most captivating painting,
and the most haunting melody:
All that stirs and touches the heart can never match the adoration, praise and joy that shouts for you in heaven.
Thank you that one day soon, we lowly beings will be partakers of the wondrous and glorious sounds of heaven, if we don’t quit following you!
Lord, we fail you all the time. But still your love and mercy underpins our fragility, your saving grace calms the mistakes we make, and your peace turns our agitations into reservoirs of hope and faith.
Where would we be without you! Up the creek without a paddle!
We know all this, but still don’t always consult you or stop and consider what you would do in any given tricky situation that we’re in.
Please forgive us Lord, when we witness scenes of destruction and death in life which cause us to doubt your existence. We humbly and fervently ask you to help us, in such times, and encourage each other not to give up in believing in you, nor trusting in your unfathomable ways. But to hold fast to what is written in scripture as to the end days; that you will right every wrong and ‘wipe every tear from our eyes’ (Rev 21:4).
