Tyndale Bible 500 Walk and Service 26

As you will know this year is the 500 anniversary of the Tyndale Bible translation. It was the first New Testament translation into English, allowing the general public to read the Bible for the first time in their own language. We thank God for his work. As a result of his work he was killed.

The Congregational Federation collectively are walking 500 Mile to celebrate the anniversary of the first Bible being written in English, The Challenge was set at our National Assembly on 9th May and will conclude at the Tyndale Memorial in North Nibley ( South West Midlands) 5th Sept 2026

Each area is planning to talk 50 Miles and some Congregational Churches in the Eastern Area will be contributing to this 50 by doing their own walks. We are however doing a 50 Miles walk from Wed 22nd – Sat 25th July. Walking from Felixstow to Wivenhoe. You are welcome to join us for part of this walk we start at 9am each morning. Just contact Nigel Lindsay for more details. 22nd Felixstow- Ipswick 23rd Ipswick – Harwich 24th Harwich – Jaywick 25th Jaywick – Wivenhoe.

At Alresford Ford you could join to walk the final 2.5 miles to the Carination Gardens in Wivenhoe. Sat 25th July 26 Here we will hold a short open air service at 4pm and hope others will join us. Wivenhoe Church has a quiz night from 7pm that night to which you are all welcome to join. Yvonne our General Secretary plans to be with us for this final day.

We will need transport on a few occasions to link us up between roads that just go to fast, 24th and 25th July. If you can help with this do let me know.
