Simone first joined the Team as the Youth, Students, and International Pastor in 2017, supporting Minister Rev Justin Lunniss in reaching out to the multicultural community of the University of Essex. In 2019, he became Assistant Pastor, leading worship once a month and starting an online Book Club during the pandemic.

Simone also helped modernise the website, and took a keen interest in Wivenhoe Congregational Church receiving an Eco Church award. With his help, the Church received the Bronze and Silver awards in quick succession. Members will now continue his works on both fronts.

Simone will now focus his ministry efforts on his role as the Service Chaplain for Suffolk Fire & Rescue, and Visiting Minister to the Ipswich Methodist Circuit.

Wivenhoe Congregational Church wishes Simone all the best for the future, and thanks him for six years of thought-provoking ministry and service.

Update (October 2023): The Church was pleased to learn Rev Simone has now been awarded a British Empire Medal in recognition to his voluntary service during the pandemic.
